Brake upgrades?
Brake upgrades?
Are there any front brake upgrades available for the MK1? My bike feels severely underbraked.

Hi ZIK 'the brake power kind of depends on your relative benchmark , all things being equal the standard brake should have sufficient retardation for normal usage .
Try all the cheap fixes first, degrease disc , renew fluid DOT 4 bleed system thoroughly , check and clean if required piston ,and renew seals if required .
Failing that a stainless ,replacement hose sometimes helps.
Regards Mike

Re: Brake upgrades?
if your caliper/pads etc are ok you could put a bigger disc on, like a 320 mm supermoto disc from braking + adapter bracket, and if that aint enough you could add a braking supermoto caliper. But on standard tires it would be very easy to lock up the front and fall off

Re: Brake upgrades?
Follow FMtB's advice first. A 320mm front disk is pretty savage if you are using the bike off road
.
On a Mk1 all the seals (calliper & master cylinder) are probably very tired.
