Rear Lights

Post by rpurdie » 26 Jan 2009, 13:22

I bought the CRM250 Mk2.2 I was asking questions about recently. It doesn't have any rear indicators, mounting for the number plate or number plate light. Does anyone have any tips on a cost effective way to make it legal? I guess original undertrays are quite hard to get ahold of? Any good place to get indicators or other lights from?

Also, the rear brake light switch doesn't appear to connect to anything? Does anyone have a photo of what it should look like so I can work out whats missing?

Cheers,

Richard

I have fitted a DRC led plate holder, only slightly modified and it had 4 equaly sized spacers which pointed it down too much. The rear brake switch should have 2 wires going up towards the cdi unit and join the loom there. there should also be a six pin connector that carries all the wires to the rear light and indicators.

I got an Acerbis unit from Leisure Trail which takes a standard incandescent 21/5W bulb for my AR. The bulb holder is sideways (rather than down the length of the bike) so the light is brighter on the RHS of the lens. It also has a clear bit of lens underneath to illuminate the number plate. It doesn't have a rear reflector as standard but there is an Acerbis reflector for it if you do an internet search. The Acerbis isn't E-marked and I haven't yet had the bike in for an MOT.........................Having said that, I have searched endlessly on the internet for an E-marked rear light and reflector and couldn't find anything.
