I don't think there are any other bikes with exactly the same radiator. You could mend the leak unless it is catastrophic or perhaps get a Mk2 unit. Fortunately it is the left side so I think the piping will fit, BUT DO CHECK. Mk2 are 10% bigger but they use the same rad. panels.

Now I wish I had tore my bike down a month ago.

I think it may be leaking in a couple of places as it is pretty wet. Also some of the fins are looking pretty ragged.

If I were to pressure test the rad to find the leak how much pressure do you think would be safe to put into it?

to pressure test something for leaks you only need very low pressure ie a couple of PSI literally - then dunk the whole thing in water and look for streams of bubbles or brush soapy (washing up liquid) water over it.

KMK1 - you say other bikes rads don't fit but do you know if the rads are interchangeable between different mks of CRM or do they have different mounting points for the shrouds/plastics? I could do with a new rad for a mk3 as mine is a bit squashed. looking around I can only find mk2 rads for sale but I dont know if they would be the same. Any help would be much appreciated.

The part nos Mk3 - Mk2 are different and I would definitely say that the radiator with the cap is different between the Mks. The other maybe the same or close enough for you to work a solution :?:

I think is is very likely that Mk3 & AR rads are interchangeable.

OK cheers, looks like there's some rads on ebay from a "1997 CRM" I assume that's a mk3 or AR beacause of the year so I may invest in them and let everyone know if they are interchangeable between mk3/Ar. also going to compare a friends mk2 against the mk3 when I get the chance and see how different they are.
