MK3 Braided Brake Line

Post by Sorbs » 23 Jun 2009, 14:50

Hi, I have a 1995 MK3 and want to improve the front brake, I have already fitted soft pads from LeisureTrail and changed and bled the fluid, next step is for a braided hose. I remembered Knackered mentioned HEL brake lines from ebay, I went ahread and ordered a front replacement from them without reading the advert properly and got this response below.

Does anyone know if this line will fit my Standard MK3 and help HEL update thier database

Hello David,
Thank you for your order and your payment.

Unfortunately, as stated in the advert this kit is for the 1998 model, and we cannot therefore guarantee fitment on any other model.

If you would like to check the spec against your 1995 model, the line is 1400mm + fittings (approx 40mm). The fittings are 20° banjo at the caliper and 20° "side" banjo at the master cylinder.

If these specifications are not suitable we are happy to make the line to your spec's or you can send us your OEM line and we will duplicate it for you. Of course, if you know this line is suitable for your 1995, then please let us know so we can update the database and get the line on it's way to you asap.

Regards,

Andy.

Fitted the line today, simple to do with a vaccum brake bleed kit 30mins
found some gunk in the area at the top end cleaned and flushed this out with brake fluid
and has made a huge difference, I now have a front brake wahey :D .

Will let HEL know that the line fits a MK3 - £30 well spent
