Really old newbie
Really old newbie
Hello everyone, this is the oldest "newbie" ever (unless you know any other 70 year old CRM owners!
I live in the Philippines and off road motorcycles are in my blood, so when I heard of a CRM for sale locally I read as much as I could on this forum and went ahead and bought the CRM 250 Mk1.
Now, I think it's mechanically OK, but on a short ride I couldn't figure out where the "rubbing" noise was coming from, although the chain slipper is almost totally worn away and when I removed the rear wheel the pads dropped out of the caliper and dangled there held by the pin. They seem to be about 5mm too short to stay in position.
Anyway, I'm into a total strip down now, except I don't plan to pull it apart mechanically unless there's an indication that it's necessary. In the meantime, I'll continue reading all the posts I can, and try to figure out what the rear shock is that currently provides me with a seat height of 955mm (!), which is way too much for a little old man.
