CRM 250 MK 2 bore size & oversize pistons

Post by 118118 » 20 Aug 2010, 17:06

Following last weekend’s problems with a partial seizure or broken ring, the barrel actually looks in reasonable order.
My mate has stripped the topend now and says the barrel has only light marked and may even polish up or a slight rebore is required.
My question is, the bore is currently standard. What sizes of oversize pistons can you buy and what size do I ask to have the barrel bored out to?

Thanks
Stu

I have always asked the company doing the rebore to supply the piston.. It probably cost a couple of quid more but a lot less hassle than getting a piston and having to exchange it if the bore does not clean up.

LT did the job for me last time and I was very happy with their work and service.

give the barel a light sanding ( homing ) to get rid of the shining, if the marks go, just get new rings or piston kit,

some on e-bay standard size
