Get it out and ride it more often, I have never had this problem

Most likely - Cable has started to fray/wear and/or clutch drum has grooves in it. Discussed loads on this site ............

That is exactly what I am trying to do.

Have been a little preoccupied with my Vespa at the minute as i had a slight seeshore last month resulting in a new piston and hone. Might seem nothing but I was doing 65mph and overtaking a car at the time. And did not get a chance to pull the clutch in. Resulting in a 'trouser browner' for me and a locked back wheel for the Vespa.

Now the problem appears to be the clutch and/or crank in the Vespa. As it revs freely but goes nowhere.

But that is my problem and not yours. I will put my thinking cap on and take another look at the CRM early next week.

Am unsure as to what oil is in it. As the bike is how it arrived when I took delivery.

It is more than likely that lack of use[hence my tongue in cheek post] has allowed the plates to adhere to each other.
Start the bike, and get the oil good and warm, when it is so, switch of the engine, engage 1st gear, pull in the clutch, and then attempt to push/rock the bike.
You may have to build up some speed, then simultaneously, pull in the clutch lever, and engage 1st gear, with the ignition turned OFF.
Failing all the above, it's going to have to be a casing removal.

Twisted......you are indeed correct. If everything was that simple ! Engine was built 12 - 18 months ago along with a new cruci and crank !

Mike......I get your drift. Didn't mean to cause any offence. You are indeed correct - bike has had little use since I bought it.
However, that will change once everything is sorted - it will be doing 80 - 100 mile round trips to and from work (North West England - West Yorkshire) so everything has to be spot on.

Geez, your brave dude, i went from nw to almost nw yorks on saturday an my skinny ass was achin like buggery (probably wrong term, or quite apt)

Twisted - all told it's not that bad nor that much further than me travelling to Preston (30 miles / 60 mile round trip). As I used to do this on a regular basis on me Vespa or me Lambretta when I used to work at Preston Hospital.

What's up with you are you are mard arse or sommat ? Are ye not of 'Northern stock' !
As i've done Holland, Spain, Nothern Ireland on a Vespa and Lambretta. In fact i'm off to the Irish Republic next month on me Lambretta !

Must confess, travelling over Saddleworth is a bit hit and miss as it can be good weather over here in Lancashire but once you travel over the border into 'Fax and Hud. The weather can change dramatically.

Twisted - 'Ditto' I prefer Chorley hospital as well (i've worked there an all) even tho' I live 'on top' of Bolton hospital.

But I DO prefer Dewsbury hospital to be honest, as its just a little bit better than Chorley. And I enjoy working with our 'White Rose' brethren !

Will come over sometime for a brew once the CRM is sorted.


P.S. the knack of riding scooters is to ride em hard and fast - centrifugal force keeps em upright !!

Its a bit difficult ridin a pk50 hard an fast think i once got 35 out of it.

Yeah, have a ride down on the crm chief. Are you planning on greenlaning on crm, or is it purely for the mean streets?
