New mk 3 owner from Merseyside

Post by bigomlet28 »

Recently bought a nice little mk 3 from Mike aka " abigsupermoto" a few weeks ago and have only had a few rides on it due to work and holidays etc. Gonna get a bit more practice in then will look for fellow riders for a ride out in the north west area.

Cheers
Paul.

yeah Mike did sell it and what a bike it is. Everything that its needed its had and only needs mint panels to finish it off but as its my first off road bike for years I'm not gonna bother and concentrate on riding it and improving my off road skills. I only ride on local non legal areas for practice so I would like to get out and do some proper lanes in the near future. And yes your right Mike is a decent bloke.

the postcode is ch5 2LL and you need to go to zone 4 just follow the signs for zone 4 and when you come to the final roundabout for zone 4 you go first exit off the roundabout then take 1st left and shotton papermill will be on the right hand side as you drive up a road with lots of speed bumps, drive to the end of the road then turn right follow up over more speed bumps and you will see people parked up the road so just find a spot to park if youre using a trailer then unload and explore dont get caught riding on the road (if your bike or yourself isnt legal) when mr plod comes doing his rounds, they dont mind you riding off road and may even pnc your bike but if youre a good boy then youve nothing to worry about

Hi bigomlet, see you managed to sign back on the site, glad you are having fun on the mk 3, I have bought an sr500 that needs sorting out so that is keeping me busy at the moment (see pics) it is totally stripped down and the angle grinder is out . it was running when I got it but had an oil leak so the engine is in bits too, when I took the head off it revealed some damage to the head itself (looks as if a valve has snapped and dinged the head) and the cam shaft and rockers were also worn. so it may take a bit longer than I'd hoped and more cash, but project street tracker is under way. take it easy ;) abs

That seems to be the way  I built a "cheap" c90 for a 6hr endurance race once, ended up costing nearly a grand  , worth it for the fun we had racing it though

Cheers abs, made up with the bike as its more than enough for me off road, a great way to get back into off roading. Got a small issue at the mo, when I was away my dad used it and put normal pre mix oil in instead of injection oil which I only found out after it started losing power a little then the oil light flickered on the other night. Had a look at oil what my dad had used and its some old shell pre mix shite. Oh oh looks like the oil isn't getting through. Have a look this weekend and do a service and tyre change aswell. Not bled the oil pump before but there is some info on here so I'll av a go.
