Re: Knackered's New Project - Lightly Modded Trail Mk1
All bits dropped off at the powdercoaters.
It's looking like this will turn into a less expensive version of my other Mk1. I'm not taking the engine apart as I know it is good and I'm not replacing most of the nuts/bolts with stainless steel as I did before or using all new parts. I'm still undecided about the cylinder and exhaust I will use.
I am getting a CR seat. I've been trying various combinations of seat/tank. The CRM seat is 3cm wider than the CR which means less control but particularly a feeling of bulk. Also 3cm of seat width translates to about 5cm of seat height when you're dabbing and it just doesn't feel right. I will probably shave some foam off the seat as well.
Air box finished - Combination of Mk1 box to Mk2 inlet to allow for CR tank. Also opened up inside and put two carbon fibre tubes in to allow better air flow.

Re: Knackered's New Project - Lightly Modded Trail Mk1
my wife has a formula for my planned completion time for anything:knackeredMk1 wrote:Projected finish date - end of April.
Ha, Ha, Ha .......................
Estimated Time x 2 + (Estimate time \ 2) = a somewhat more more accurate completion time.

AR's rock!!!

£220 worth as a bit of a deal. Redditch Shotbasting do take very good care. Each small part was individually wrapped in tissue paper and the large parts covered in bubble wrap.

I wonder if this will be done before Jeram's?? ;)
Re: Knackered's New Project - Lightly Modded Trail Mk1
I dunno, how fast does he work?
Im going at a pretty fast pace at the momment but still need one last critical part... the cylinder head.
so it could go either way :)

Re: Knackered's New Project - Lightly Modded Trail Mk1
You wouldn't believe the problems I'm having with some part suppliers at the moment. I won't mention names at the moment as things are on going with several. When they get sorted out or otherwise I will expand on this, both good and bad, but for the moment I'm staying stum......................

All I'm doing is improving the suspension, the handling and reducing the weight. I'll be doing only the basics with engine performance.
