After Market Pilot Jets

Post by mudboots » 01 Mar 2013, 20:07

When I was in at our local Honda dealer not much help and very over priced on just about every thing, I wanted some Pilot Jets as my bike will be close to what Knackerd has done to his motor the standard Pilot jet being 45 for the MK1 but I have a new MK2 carb for it keihin PE 31C, I wanted 1 size down one standard and 1 of each up to 50.,
The Honda dealers want from $37 to $43 each.
On Rinkya Japan you can get main jets a set of 8 for a little over $18 no problem but the do not sell Pilot Jets so can anyone please tell me where I can buy aftermarket ones or name of company that makes them.

Thanks if you can help.

You want a 132 main and a 45 pilot as said. Most Keihin 2 stroke carbs use the same jets so any MX dealer worth his salt will have them.

Okay Knackerd thing is the Honda dear had no jets at all for Keihin carbs or could he find my PE31C on his parts listing its bloody pathetic and at over $38 a jet to order off them.
But theres a good chance I will need different jets from the 132 main and 45 pilot.
The motor I got from Japan by the way for the cost of $117 is in fact a MK2 it has the hole in the bottom of the barrel as posted in your photos.
My Mate Sam a race Bike mechanic was very inpressed with the motor its in very good condition shame I could not just swap the motors. Anyway he has done a porting job on the barrel, and the head will be fitted to the old girl, I have the intake off a MK3 and am fitting Boyesen Dual Stage reeds, A Pro-Skill stainless steel expansion chamber with a ProCircuit 304 tale pipe, Also its a lot wormer in north Thailand anywhere from 26c up to 33+ most of the time and I ride up in the mountains and when I am there I can not just pop in to a bike shop and get parts so I need to get whatever I need before I go home .... just in case.
Sam has said I should go see the bike wrecker here in town he restores older dirt bikes as well and would more than likely be a lot more helpful than the Honda dealer so I will drop in next week and see.

OK - so the hotter you go the smaller the jets need to be.

Why not order a set of jets off Rinkya if they are so hard to find?

Well I have gotten my main jets and many other things from Rinkya.com I have even asked them about Pilot jets .... no joy!
I will find them or Sam will get them for me off his old race crew in Vic I hope but I will get them. Its just I hate being ripped off, i don't mind paying.
By the way the Twin Air Powerflow air filter kit for XR400 do's not do the a plastic cage any more its now a rigid, lightweight, billet aluminum cage ordered on yesterday from the US $47.59 plus postage.
