snapped crankcase bolt
following the guide - which suggested 6.8N -
Once all is well, tighten the bolts evenly in a criss-cross pattern to close the cases fully. Remove the bolts again, place a drop of thread lock on each and refit. Torque them up carefully and evenly. I'm not sure what the official torque setting is, I tightened them up to 8 lbs-feet (11 Nm) and only one broke! Try 5 lbs-feet (6.8 Nm).
have now snapped a bolt... case is back apart..
one step forward - 2 step back,,,

bolts removed,..
actually I cheated, i didnt fancy my shoddy drilling, so went to a mates who had a drill on a stand!

he suggested not doing em up so tight
hmm my new small torque wrench only goes from 5Newts to 25
wondering if it was *tooo* cheap? ( about 25 quid new

Not sure about crm bolts but berg bolts are 10Nm
25 quid doesnt sound too bad, as long as its calibrated.

snapped at 6.8

or
bolts are crap
I just done em up so they feel tight -
ps anyone know if I can use hi temp copper compound instead of molydbenum?

Are they the original bolts?
Just use the copper slip, you'll be rebuilding it again in 3 months

hahha - if that happens I rthink my wife will donate the bike on my behalf

anyway - look on the bright side. it might not even last 3 months - could be end of june
