Hi Mutley,
Good luck getting the bike sorted.

I've got a bit of a bitsa with an AR engine.

We'll have to meet up for some laning when its done. I'm in Farnham. Sounds like we could meet at the Punch Bowl.
Where abouts are you?

Paul.

You certainly can!

Maybe we can arrange a CRM day as Mike is not too far away. His son has a CRM too.

That sounds good, just need to find some spare time as the weekends are currently full converting my flat bed trailer into a a two bike hauler for the "Vince" in the " pair of knees" in July. This crappy weather is hardly inspiring either, last time out I did more sawing than fecking riding.

Seems like we have a CRM hants/Surrey 'cluster'. Found someone to strip and re-build my motor (not a good time of the year for garden-shed re-builds, although I've no doubt it would have been character forming. . .)

So I'm out for a few weeks, but definitely up for a meet up at the Punch Bowl. I was there the morning of the blow-up. Good thing is it's one of the few places still rideable despite the weather. I'll probably be there via peddle power at the w/e so I will keep my eyes and nose ope for 2-smoke.

The "Punch Bowl " works for me as a starting /finishing place, they can poke their crappy "National don't Trust" tea at £5.00 a pot though, I'll brew me own, in their car park :D :D
I might have to break out the maps though, it's been so long since I've been out that way,we should be able to have a three county run.

Hi guys,

Quick update on my AR: It went off to Herts MX on the reco. of a friend. They've sent the cylinder off for re-chroming but think that apart from that and a new piston all is good. Hope to back on(off!) the road in a couple of weeks, so hopefully might be able to make the 'Devils Punchbowl CRM Meet' (with or without National Trust tea!).

Thx for the advice and encouragement from all.

Latest: Barrel re-chromed - HertsMX can't find a piston. Leisuretrail don't have an AR piston and all Herts' other contacts have failed to turn one up.

Can anyone help? Know where I can get an AR piston?!

For an AR you need a 66.4mm piston if that is what you got your bore sized too.

e.g. - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wossner-Pisto ... 41703bd341

I tend to keep everything in stock for my ARs as LT do not always have what I need, when I need it.

Having looked through my engine stock I only have one new piston kit so am unable to sell it.

However I have an immaculate AR piston and rings in stock, very low mileage, £100.

New circlips will be required as I always throw them away due to being one time use items.

Price is what it is as I do not normally sell my stocks as I have 5 ARs.

Thanks guys - some choices there. I was beginning to think that I would have to try to carve one from wood.

Hi Mutley,

If it was me I would have snapped my piston and rings up your forum post, bearing in mind your workshop are trying to assemble your engine.

But as time stands still for nobody another user has just contacted me and purchased my piston and rings, so it is no longer available.
