Plastics, vinyl wrap
Plastics, vinyl wrap
Having bought my second crm, I can safely say, messing about with plastics again was not something I was looking forward to. Decided to wrap the in vinyl this time. Got the vinyl from SK London, off eBay. It's come out well, I'll keep people posted but it was a far better way of covering tired plastics instead of painting. I understand this isn't everyone's cup of tea but if you use your crm off road, paint cracks quick. Just something else people can try. I'll try and get a pic up of before and after.

Very much looking forward to seeing the outcome, was it expensive?

Re: Plastics, vinyl wrap
Ive tried doing it. A full roll ended up screwed up in the bin
Ya need lots of patience and skill. I have the former but lack the latter.
The panels being flexible make it extra hard, how did you get around this?

I've considered this, but I tried tinting windows in my boy racer days and they ended up looking like an aero chocolate bar

This was something I had considered doing for my tired plastics also, so would love to see some pics of how it turned out.

I'm about to get the white side plastics off my AR done with that water dip printing thing, so will let you know how that works out.
Would like to get the tank and front/rear guards done too, but I think the purple base would make it not work so well. Looks like those bits will need to be wrapped.

Anyone tried the spray vinyl or "dipping" like on this site?

There are other sites where you can buy the stuff for home use and loads of vids on Youtube. I am tempted but wondered if anyone has tried it.

No, but I'm thinking the missus could do with a trip through the vinyl wrapper 8-]], luckily she never logs onto here, trying to type with two black eyes might be awkward.
