His ebay page http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-Crm250- ... 417f7103dc
He fixed mine OK. you have to send the PGM to Greece and he will test it to see if it is the controler for the power valve. If so he will cut it open and repair the board, re-test then send back.
I contacted him by email and he only took my money once he had fixed and tested it. I will PM you his email address.

Re: crm 250 ar powervalve trouble
Try:
1.Clean and lube cables
2. With cables disconnected check the powervalve in the cylinder moves freely stop to stop (you should hear it hitting the stops)
3. Try another powervalve (off of any CRM)
4. Wiring
5. Voltage regulator
6. ECU
In that financial order

I believe the power valves on the AR are significantly different to those on the MD24s.

Re: crm 250 ar powervalve trouble
cables are lovely and oiled up and the powervalve moves easily in the cylinder. all wiring is okay everything is fine. it seems to work now and again so i deffinately think it is the pgm
. untill i have the spare funds i am just going to disconnect the servo and have it half way open. is there anything that could get damaged running the bike like this ?
thanks
nathan

thanks

Re: crm 250 ar powervalve trouble
nope thats how mine ran for months. just tweak the valve to where you want the power.
the valve WILL get gummed up by leaving it in one position so move it through its full movement once in a while and make sure it is free once the PGM is repaired.

I have always found that faults that go away on their own, come back on their own.

i have contacted nick via ebay and discussed my pgm with him i sent a photo of it as there may be a burn mark on the rubber .i know two other people going down this same route ,rectifier failure then fried powervalve circuit so it must be catching at the moment .

Re: crm 250 ar powervalve trouble
Very common problem which Honda never cured. Will be the end of the AR except as a collectors piece.
Prediction - In five years time we will see a number of ARs that are being used with MD24 engines and many scrapped as value of parts will be far higher than the whole with a duff ECU.

Agreed I was getting close to fitting a seperate PV controller and removing all of the AR parts.

Re: crm 250 ar powervalve trouble
best way of checking if regulator is on the way out is to turn your lights on and use the horn. if the lights dim when horn is pressed then its time to change it nearly 3 years since nick sorted my pgm out and its still working sweet i couldn't go back to a jammed valve 100% recommendation from myself for his fine work
VIVA LA CRM!
