Re: Knocking and temp light
Thanks guys for the info!
Now I am not sure if recore is included or extra. On a website it says straightening, repair and welding. Not sure how they do it. I will do some more testing and keep my eyes for used one. Checked few other things today: Opened flywheel cover and felt for play in a crankshaft (with a flywheel attached)- solid. Also opened power valve cover and marks are a bit off. Do I adjust when its cold? How do I check its working- do I just rev it? Sorry it's still new to me. Put new front wheel bearings, changed gearbox oil. Also left to do: check stator and reg/rec.(They can burn the computer if faulty?) How do I do? Stator output AC I know how to check, but what about reg/rec output? Is it 12V system? Waiting for fork seals.

Re: Knocking and temp light
Post a video/sound track. It's not the best way but we can probably tell you if something is definitely wrong.
Also take the exhaust off and shine a torch up the exhaust port when the piston is in view and also not. If you post photos as well?

I think we should get to know him slightly better before asking to shine a light up his exhaust portknackeredMk1 wrote:Post a video/sound track. It's not the best way but we can probably tell you if something is definitely wrong.

Re: Knocking and temp light
Thanks guys!
Thanks for checking helisupp. I didn't had much time today, but run it for a bit (not up to temperature), couple of hoses were leaking, so hopefully it's not rads- gonna do some more checking
But knocking is still there. It's happening when stationary idling. Poked a bit with stethoscope but none the wiser. Actually, I can hear better without it. Need to sort the cooling first and run it and spend more time listening.
I will try to record the sound and take some pictures too.
And thanks for tip about exhaust port. I imagine it would show us something.
I spend some money today
Got new tyres (even if engine needs work, I am gonna keep it
Got Avon Roadriders. Anyone have experience with them on Crm?
Also adjusted power valve (It's working!)

Re: Knocking and temp light
Hi Greg, thanks for the interest. Engine is waiting its turn. I am now at the wheel building stage, making supermoto wheels. Managed to fish out some (good) spare wheels so I can use old hubs. Waiting for a spoke set for a front wheel from Central Wheels. Ordered 2 weeks ago -haven't heard nothing. Chased them up yesterday - promised to deliver tuesday.
Will tackle engine after the wheels.
