Oil light
iv read about what Ballistic said
. the oil pump, someones got pics on the net .you wanna get it sorted though as your petrol to oil mix could be on the lean side. not sure what it could do to your clutch, but it does make the gears ect a nice red colour.
And as to that Oil Cap!! you do really need to be carfull when putting it back on . push it to hard you can colse the valve in the cap, which can stick.
what happens then is you get an air lock, in the tank, oil stops going in the engine and it cost you £600 to fix it as it did to me. \"bugger\"
you can remove and clean the valve with ease, i used carb cleaner and then a quick spray of WD
i always check the cap now after filling by blowing down the small hole on top... good luck
good luck timo

It was the oil seal as suggested by Ballistix.
I stripped down the clutch side of the engine and pushed the seal back in and all is fine now (not sure if I needed to take the engine cover off or if I could have just taken the oil pump off but never mind). I have put a couple of pictures on the following link for those who are interested:

Thanks to all for your suggestions (especially those who suggested I had put 2 stroke in the gearbox!!).
