I sent off the application today. I have decided to enter the EC200, but will bring the CRM along as a backup.
Perhaps an acronym is called for, RAIB?
(Redundant Array of Inexpensive Bikes)
Naturally if the EC doesn't break and one of this list's CRMs does, I am happy to lend it out under "big boys' rules"

Ok, so who's really going to the red kite this year??
Slider, Mick, rooster?????? any of you guys? What about Knackered, your bikes got to be ready by now.
And Gwyn, convince Ade that he doesn't want to ride, and that he'd rather take one for the team. (that has a different meaning down here in Brighton

) Anyone from this forum want to come and work the pits. (free beer/)

My slightly more experienced mate who I was going to do the rally with has had a rather fortunate paragliding accident. I say "fortunate" as he will get better eventually, which is a good result for a paraglider. With 2 broken legs he won't be kickstarting his GasGas within the next month, though, so it looks like I will be doing it by myself.
I am rather hoping that the instructions, when they come, will tell me all I need to know, as I have never done a Rally (or any other competitive motorsport event) before.

Hi Davey
I got a tow bar fitted (at fekin last

) and i'm hoping to borrow a trailer, so i will probably go up Sunday morning. I'l have to have a chat with Ade about taking the fuel up, bearing in mind that there are eight of us doing it from the VDSR forum

I cant see a problem. I'le keep you informed

I'll be there on my AR with a mate on a ktm 625, got someone coming with us to drive up to the fueling area with our kit. Look out for us if your stuck.
Going from past experience there are plenty of vehicles going up there, just ask.
The only problem is if your fuel is with one of the earlier riders, they might not want to hang around after their final pit stop, if your at the end of the field!
Dont know why W.T.R.A dont put on a trailer to carry fuel to the pits. prob health & safety!!!
Gareth.

Cheers Walt

WTRA used to trailer the fuel up to the start, but as you said H/S, and no insurance company is going to cover you carrying 1000 litres of fuel

(unless your a tanker driver

)
So far off this forum doing the Red kite we got............
Davey (and mrs Davey)
Walt
Andy
Myself
Anymore?

I'm there, going up Saturday to the Rugby club.
Change of bike for me though - will be the first rally on my new-to-me XR650. If all goes to plan I should have a 24l tank on it, so won't be worrying about fuel, otherwise it will be a couple of 5l cans in a rucksack!
I'm also going car/trailer! I've really wimped out so far this year - but I do have a good excuse.
Can't wait.........
