It's dragging. I've tried adjusting it and it seemed to go away, took it for a ride out, it was fine wen I first started it up, then got to a junction pulled clutch in to select 1st gear and it was still trying to go with clutch in. From what I can gather on the forum, there is a possibility of the wrong oil being in it and/or the clutch basket has got worn and grooved to which a file will help. Was going to give it a service this weekend anyway but think I'm gng to need a gasket if I'm gunna be checking the clutch basket.
Have you experienced anything like this pal?

ive not mate, it is possible that the wrong or old oil could be in the gearbox but it does sound more towards an actual clutch basket and plates problem

Ok thanks for taking time to reply anyway. Been in garage tonight to check levels and there was way to much in for starters and very dirty. Gunna change it tomorrow and see what the results will be but I agree with you does seem like and actual clutch problem but I might as well do it while the weather ain't upto much rather than when it's nice I could be rippin up on your track lol
Takecare and hopefully see you very soon!

johnny, it could well be the basket knotching on the edges where the plates sit. my mk3 did it, take the basket of and give it gental file. sure there is a thread on here about it, and pics too.

Thanks Steve am hoping I don't have to do it after I put new oil in but seems a common problem that will have to be sorted
