Well all bikes ridden today, no difference whatsoever connected or disconnected......

Now all back safely in the garage on their new stands, 1 now on road tyres.

Hello Guys

I need your advice again. The AR has been running great since the replacement stator & kick start gear, & of course
the repair to the PGM. Until two weeks ago, out on a ride we stopped & turned off engines for some horses.
After a short break we were going to carry on but mine would not start. eventually it started after being towed
(that was scary, not having done that before) while putting my gear back on, it died & would not start (no spark)
A week later I got the chance to check it out. I removed the brand new plug one of the guys lent me & cranked it
by hand, it sparked ! great I thought i'll try the original plug & that sparked too. Then nothing again.
I have checked continuity of kill switch & ignition switch, both seem fine, side stand switch has been disconneted
for a couple of years. Do you think it could be the repaired PGM or maybe a bad earth somewhere?

Thanks in advance for any input

Ade

Bad earth, poor connection or break in the circuit most likely. Difficult to find though .....................................

Thanks guys

I did check the woodruff key after reading a previous post, but didn't check the magneto. Weekend with the circuit
tester then. What are your tips for this job?

Thanks again

Ade

Hi all

She's running again, I've been through the whole loom & all components with the multi meter, still can't find a
reason for the loss of spark. After reading recent posts, I think the ignition coil maybe at fault.
i'm quite happy to replace it, but thought I would ask your advice on what to replace it with, does it have to be
a genuine part ?, what else fits ? etc.

Thanks in advance

Ade
