finally we can answer the question

'whats that noise'



its the sound of a piece of metal grinding its way up an down my barrel.. looks like a part of the piston itself? the bit by the inlet got stuck to the barrel?! ( theres a matching bit at the barrel



was difficult to get the piston out the last bit - resorted to whacking with rubber mallet

--------> is this my crappy piston fitting or just one of those things ( he says as about to embark on his most ambitious stripping since errr ever! )

All i can say is OUCH !!!
some one who has more problems with bikes than me !
