Newbie oil pump adjustment query

Hi everyone I've looked at leisure trail guide on this and I must be doing something wrong.

I cant get the alignment correct whichever way I turn the adjuster

Is something else wrong? I've had carb off and cleaned due to a blocked pilot jet, I think I got throttle cable set, would that affect it?

Sorry I've tried to find it on search but no luck

Matt

Is the inset brass nut within the housing just spinning? Check to make sure otherwise the adjuster will do as you're suggesting. Or possibly the cable is out of adjustment, though that's less likely.
Is the cable in good order, not frayed or damaged?

You mean the brass nut on the throttle cable as oil pump seems to have normal steel ones.

Both cables look pretty new to be honest

I seemed to have trouble setting the throttle cable would it affect it? Maybe I've got that wrong

The throttle cable runs from the twist grip under the tank, down the frame spine to a splitter housing. This housing is where the cable links into the oil pump cable and the throttle body cable, thus delivering equal pull to both functions.
You might have to start at the top and work your way down checking for kinks as you go. You will have to remove the tank to check the cable splitter housing. If this seems to be working satisfactorily it's best left as getting it back together can be a mare.
The inner of the two lock nuts on the oil pump should stay still whilst you spin the cable adjuster, up or down as is required to obtain the correct setting, when set then lock down the outer nut.
At the twist grip there should be a small amount of free play, this can be adjusted on the throttle housing.
There is also adjustment on the top of the carb, that will not affect the oil pump setting.
Can you hear the throttle body bottoming out in the carb when you twist then release the twist grip? you should be able to.

Cheers for help Mike

I can hear the bottoming out in the carb.

I'll pull tank off and go from there then, I've only touched the throttle cable at the carb end.

Sure it's something daft, but know how important oil settings are don't want to damage engine

Fill the petrol tank, and the oil tank, use the bike then refill and accurately measure the amount of fuel used compared to oil.
Dividing the oil amount into the fuel amount will give the mix ratio.
You might have concerns over nothing.

Sorted it Mike, for some reason it had something like a roll pin over the throttle cable at top near brake lever. It wasn't allowing full adjustment so I shortened that and it's fine now.

Must have had a longer cable fitted to it or something

Thanks for your help
