My MK2 doesn't have a thermostat installed, it was missing when I bought it. The Honda one is discontinued, has anyone found an alternative option, or should I just run it?

It looks like they list a couple for different years, so probably worth checking which one you need. I wouldn't use it long term without a thermostat personally. I wonder why it was removed?

Yeah I've checked everywhere online and nobody has one. It's been saved in my CMSNL wish list for a year now hoping it will become available but so far no luck.

None of my other two strokes use one so I'm not sure exactly why this one does, but I trust Hondas judgement and want to run it, but in the meantime I've just been making sure it's thoroughly warmed up before riding.

Have you tried Leisure Trail?

I might have a used one in my spares, if you are interested. I can test it before hand.

Out of interest, what other 2T's do you have that don't have a thermostat fitted?

I'm in the USA so even though I've tried to give Leisure Trail copious amounts of money, they aren't interested in taking it from me!

My 86 Fourtrax 250R and my 1990 KDX200 don't use a thermostat. I honestly don't know of any others that do, though I'm sure they exist.

I'd be interested if you had an extra!

Update: Leisure trail does still offer new thermostats. I had a gentleman in England offer to order one and ship it to me!
