When i bought my bike it'd been left stood a long time. I've stripped my carb that many times i know it with my eyes shut, the jets keep getting blocked. Yes there is a brand new fuel filter on it. New jets etc.

I'm almost certain fine particles of rust are getting through my filter as the jets keep clogging. I've been told about a sealer which you pour into your tank which bonds the rust to the tank thus stopping the fine particles. I've cleaned my tank out best i can but there must still be bits in it.

Does anyone know where i can find this tank sealer, i've been asking everywhere. I'd be very appreciated if someone could help as i really wanna ride me bike

How did you clean your tank out ,,There still maybe rust in there ,,When i did mine i used some small stones (mainly flint) and just shook the tank for an hour ,Leave a little oil in the tank aswell(no petrol),This will scrath the insides a little , Then you have to flush everything out and let dry , I used a product called \"rust eater\" This is a white milky liquid that dried rock hard after contact with rust ,however im unshure wether petrol will reactivate it when in contact(make it soft again)..also dont shake it too hard or youll put dents in the tank fron the inside??The only other thing is to make shure you checked your petrol cap for sludge,rust and rotting rubber and the seal is intact.. Also , if your looking for a petrol tank sealer product , dont just think motorcycle shop ,, cars ,lorries ,tractors boats ,, they ll have petrol tanks ,,my an agricultural shop would have a product for use on tractor tanks that would suit..mybee ,

there's definately bits in there as i can see them when i drain off into a clear pot. I've been trying car shops. I'll try that rust eater stuff, might do the trick. I've borrowed a friends tank, i'm gonna post another thread about that.

To clean my tank i just used petrol. Because the tanks an awkward shape, it's difficult to get the bits out as they hide everywhere.

Try Petseal, not sure where you can get it from but its what all the Classic restorers use to seal rusty tanks, it is like fibre glass resin that you pour in the tank & then spread in the tank by turning it about.
