2 stroke oil leak

Anyone had 2 stroke oil leaking from the oil pump? I fitted a hose clip to the hose that feeds the oil pump from the tank (wasn't one on it), but it's still leaking from somewhere.

Any clues???

after a strip down I did, mine was leaking from the oil light sender on top of the frame - was a pain in the @rse to sort out as well - ended up bodging it by pulling the plug up a bit, putting sealant round it and pushing it home again. Seemed to do the trick ! I only mention this because it looked as though there was a leak from elsewhere but the oil was actually trickling down the frame and round various components before dripping off the bike near the front of the frame.... may be the same for you ??

Mine is actually leaking somewhere on, or around, the oil pump itself as it is collecting in the bottom of the casting if you remove the oil pump plastic cover. It's dribbling out of the drain hole, under the engine and onto the floor.

It's an AR by the way (if they're any different to other models).

Try this link - the oil seal can become displaced, though the usual symptom of this is 2 stroke oil coming out of the gearbox breather....

Un-bolt them pump leaving feed pipe attached and then you can see all the way round the pump to find the leak.

Hi,

When I stripped mine down I did notice that the oil delivery pipe that attaches to the pump was hardening up a bit. You can cut a bit off (if there is enough) or fit a new one.

Another thought - has your bleed valve got a fibre washer?

Another poster made a good point about removing the pump and having a look - that will certainly make it easier to spot.
