HI Mickstoy, I use a rawbolt to aid removal of the bearings. Insert rawbolt into inner race of bearing and tighten so that it grabs it tight. Then use a drift from the other side and simply tap it out, repeat for other side.
Never fails :D
Offhand I think I use a 10mm rawbolt.

Go get 'em

Hi Mick, a Rawbolt is used for fixing into masonary. Any hardware shop, B&Q etc sell them.
Here's a pic of one

Be aggressive, make a gap between bearing and spacer so you can get a lip to hit. With force and percistance youll get em out!

you also might want to try knocking the other side out first. sometimes the inner collar is captive on one side and will move slightly the other. Thats the end you want to drive out first, then remove the collar and drive out the opposite bearing. I havent changed the Rear crm bearings (YET) But have changed them on many bikes before, and this happens on most but not all> Jon

yep tis true usually you can push the internal spacer accross just enough to get a good edged drift onto the opposite bearing, a couple of good wails with a two pound ball pean'll get em shifted. but the rawl bolt method is what ill be using in future .cheers for that tip( saves on knuccle skin) have done this job at least four times

Sorry about bum ifo Mick. :|
Couldn't remember exact size of bolt I used
Then again I have an excuse, I'm a Fossil. :D
But rest assured once you get the right size bolt the bearings will fly out :o
Let us know how you go on.
