As I had the bike stripped down I thought I'd clean and re-oil the air filter and change the oil, I checked the LT manual which say's it should take 600-650cc, made sure I had enough oil (just) dropped the oil and refilled with nice clean stuff, oddly the amount that came out seemed more than I put back in, so I measured it into a jug and sure enough it was nearly a whole litre
Is teh manula correct, was it over filled or have I not put enough oil in it ?

If you filled it up so that oil just started coming out of the oil level 'hole' then you have filled it correctly. Don't rely on anything else.
There will always be some oil left in the gearbox depending on how long you drained it, what temperature and how close to level you had the engine while it was draining.
It seems like it was overfilled to begin with.

Where's the oil level hole ?

cupid the gear box oil level screw is located on the r/h/s of the clutch housing between it and the oil pump,10mm hex head nut.mine took more than it states in the manual and i was giving it 5 mins between top ups

Remember to keep the bike upright and level when filling it.

and remember to be patient dont go wanging a load more in too soon, best to do it with a warm engine, get things flowing a bit quicker

not unless they are like a dealer service fully paid for, then you can ram it in as quick as you like ,and then you dont have to say the rear end doesnt look fat or worry about cleaning up afterwards.
