• Another newbie

Hi all,
I am looking at getting a CRM250 very soon for a bit of on/off roading. looking at a MK3 maybe.
Hope to meet some of you guys at any ride meets that may happen.

I am gonna be starting my training for my test next week, and prefer 2 strokes to 4 tbo. And it seems that the CRM is the best one t go for.

Do they burn much fuel / 2 stroke aswell?

how do you mean jj?.mpg i get around 120km or 75 ish miles from full to reserve wich is around 8ltrs of fuel so your looking at around 35-40 mpg
i've done green lane days where i've used roughly 3 tanks of fuel,so around 24ltrs of petrol and around 1/2-2/3rds of a litre of oil to refill the oil tank
i wouldn't consider them to be overly firsty but mines a mk2 not a mk3 and i'm unsure on the fuel/oil carrying capacity of the mk3.best bet is to carry some 2stroke around with you until you get a measure of the distances you can do on the petrol/oil the mk3 can carry

So they are fairly thirsty, I wasn't sure if they were as thirsty as crossers thats all. Did you use the 3 tanks in just 1 day?

yes mate,it was a long day of green laning 12hrs+ ,had a serious case of monkey butt by the end of it

Sorry it may be a stupid question, but what sort of performance have these bikes on road? Are they much cop when hitting the tarmac ( accelaration wise and top speed, and banking it over )?

Acceleration is brisk - depends what you are used too?

All will top a ton (if you are able to hold on!) though Mk1 is slower at top re less total power but more to do with gearing.

Banking over is all to do with tyre choice.
