If you are in the UK - Why fit a CR500 in a CRM chassis

You can register a CR500 and would get better suspension and a lighter bike. A lot of people have fitted a CRM engine into an MX frame because the engine is torquey, smooth and has six gears. It would require considerable work to fit a CR500 engine into a CRM chassis. It can be done if you have the skills but why
The worst part of the CRM is the chassis. It's too soft and underbraked. This would be so out of balance with a more powerful engine.
If you need a CRM chassis to register a CR500 engine in a different country there are more reasons to do it but you will still suffer the same problems.

why beacause ive tried to register a cr and its a pain. i know crms are all about there engine/torque etc and are easy to ride thats why ive had 2. but you cant beat the power of a 500 2 stroke and i just thought it would take the hassle out of registering a motor cross bike plus you could always re valve the forks and fit a better shock. thanks for the reply anyway.

I know it seems like a good idea but believe me it is not unless you have all the skills and equipment and you are up to a 'project'. You need to be prepared to sacrifice almost all of the characteristics that make CRMs such good trail bikes and you will end up with something that is in no way competitive with today's enduro bikes.
The CR500 engine is the dogs in some respects, but it would be too brutal on the trail

. It would make a good supermoto but have you really thought about what you would have to do to make it fit
