Re: running in new /rebuilt engine/top and boottom end
IMO this is best achieved as a mixture of all types of going , but gently and at quiet times on the road , use the choke to richen the mixture occasionally ,and when throttling back after extended continuous road work ie double carriage ways ect .
Gradually increasing the acceleration rate , do NOT add extra oil , this weakens the mixture , they do seem to run hotter during this crucial break in period ,so make sure cooling system is working correctly .
A gentle and sympathetic run in is normally rewarded by a sweet sounding engine that gives a long and trouble free life .
Regards Mike
