Hi, I would be up for that, I,ll need to get my bike going by then. See my post on for sale/wanted, and I,ll have to twist my boss,s arm to let me use a van. Unless I can cadge a lift, I,m in Berkshire. Also I am quite an old person, would it be very difficult going, I could pack a blanket if I need a little sleep on the way round. I am keen to do it though.

Ok, lets look at Sat 4th of April as a start point.
Easy/hard is open to discussion although to be honest this is largely governed by the progress made and
can be sorted on the day.
Knobblies will be required unless we have an amazing heat wave

Just by way of warning

, when we did the CRM meet up last year, after our rather pleasant lunch break at the
Ponderosa , i rather innocently enquired, "would we do a few lanes on the way back to car park" , well, they all shot dagger looks at me and groaned , " what did you say that for, we'll be out all feckin knight now" ho hum,

no, it was a great day out, and Eddies a great run leader, anyone going on one of his runs, will, have a superb day, thanks again Eddie.

Hi Eddie, I will book Sat the 4th April off then but will keep checking this site for any changes. I have a comp trails tyre fitted on the rear at the moment, would you recomend I change it for something enduro for this ride or will it be down to the weather/conditions at the time?
Thanks
Moose.

Hi Moose I try my best to find the muddiest of trails so knobbly tyres are best. I have never used a trial tyre but understand that they need very low pressure to give any grip in deep mud. If we have a heat wave between now and then you might get away with them.

Ok will change tyres to suit the brown stuff

. Where are we gonna be starting? Someone mentioned the Ponderosa Cafe, I see they do accomadation (I am traveling 140 miles! 280 round trip), quite reasonable too. Would this be a good place to get digs friday night so I can be ready for Sat morning?
I have a spare clutch cable and a few other Mk2 items which I will carry just in case anyone should need them

.
Cheers
Moose

Well Moose if you are travelling that far you will want to make a full day of it to make it worth your while;)
With regards to the Ponderosa I try to keep away from there when I'm on the trail bike. The area is closely monitored by the Police because of illegal off road use. My bike is legal but I would not want to put it to the test at the end of a days trail riding. I can't comment on the B & B there are also several places in Llangollen that may be worth looking at. My usual start point is about 8 miles from the Ponderosa.

Any more CRM riders?
