Useless brakes

Just started green-laneing this year on a mk3, but can't get the brakes to work.

Disks look fine, changed pads and fluid, but still needs a massive handful to slow down and when wet get really scary, and I can stand on the brake with hardly any effect.

have I just been spoilt by two finger stoppies on gsxr, or is something badly wrong?

Something not right there. i can stop my AR at 30mph and have the back end up in the air with ease mate. change the hose and get an aftermarket disk. also strip and rebuild the caliper for peace of mind

:!: yeah the brakes on these things are usually pretty good. if you can bleed fluid through by squeezing the lever, i guess it would have to be a sticky caliper piston or caliper slides. (try a bit of molydenum disulphide grease on the slides) i,m fairly certain the xr 400 front calipers are the same!!?? good luck.

Did all of the above, and both ends work great - not sure exactly which one of them did it, or a mixture, but thanks anyway....
