				Rough running

				Morning all.
My crm is running rough at small throttle openings and when slowing down (closed throttle) it jerks around and won't maintain a steady speed at small throttle openings.
is it the mixture?
It is absolutly fine under power and idles reasonably well once warmed up, i've only really noticed it when i went back to standard gearing.
I have a new airfilter and plug to go in this weekend so hopefully that should sort it out?

				Hi Phil,
They tend to run a bit unevenly at low revs anyway. I suggest that you do the usual filter clean and plug check. Might be worth checking the settings on the carb as well. What engine oil do you use?

don't start the oil thread again!
10w40 (halfords 2stroke) I think I may have put a bit too much in would that cause problems?
I'm getting a winter car so at least i can think about taking the carb apart and giving the whole bike a strip down clean without having to worry about getting to work the next day!

				Phil,
Too much oil wont be a problem but too little would be!

i think there is a bout 750-800 in there?
how does the level hole work (i undid the screw waiting for it to run out, got to 750cc before I realised!)

The bike needs to be held upright (off the sidestand)

For some reason it takes a LONG time for the oil that you put in the filler hole to reach the level hole.
When changing the oil on my MK3 I put the bike on a paddock stansd, this is like a milking stool, this supports the bike and keeps it level, the stand has a large hole in the centre and I position the bike with the level hole over that and a bowl underneath, I then put approx 700 ml of oil into gearbox and leave overnight.
This method ensures the correct level of oil is in the gearbox every time.
Regards
Russell.
