10 ML grey pipe from back of head

Post by capt » 06 Aug 2010, 20:34

I should have been more specific.there are a few pipes.

MK2,At the rear of the Head there is a small grey pipe around 10ml in diameter and 15 inch long,I think it maybe part of the coolant system, does it fit on the carb? there is another similar pipe about 15ml that comes of the right hand side of the head that goes to the carb.

I am not a mechanic,

Thanks

+1. I think you have disconnected a coolant pipe that is actually a 'carb heating pipe'. Fitted to stop icing up in the carb, but pretty much redundant in the UK. goes from the top of the head into the carb and then back to the bottom of the RHS radiator.

thanks for this.
Fixed now, very lucky it was raining when I got back that day ,so I did not notice that it had spilled all the coolant overnight.

Could have killed my engine.
