hi mate, welcome to the wonderful sarcastic but useful site of crm250, i found a great off road place in deeside a few weeks ago and ive been going every sunday and its free, im trying to persuade a few others to join me up there, the only bad thing ive found about my mk2 crm is i hev to have it stood on fairly level ground to kick it up because im vertically challenged ( only 5ft 8) and as yesterday proved i fell off trying to start it much to the enjoyment of my mates as most normal people fall off when riding! I cant fault the crm its a fantastic bike it may feel heavy when at a standstill but ive found once youre moving it becokmes light as a feather and can be thrown about very easily, the power is so nice and smooth and gets delivered in a perfect way enabling perfect control, ive followed a bit of advice from other lads on here and use atf fluid in my gearbox and 2t oil for my premix. the only other advice i can give for do's and donts is dont eat yellow snow as it doesnt taste of lemons. enjoy mate

Probably Leisure Trail, who are very Knowledgeable, them being the primary importers of the bike.

Hi mate. Might be worth checkin the suspension bearins etc. Mine is similar age an everythin looked ok till i had a proper look. I ended up replacin every ruddy one but at least i shouldnt have to do it again for a while.
Also a good idea to see if the swingarm pivot bolt is free

No it's not, their about £15

The old one's are the best still.
Yea, TNs right, if that ain't been re-greased in the last couple of years it can be a mare to shift, usually resulting in loads of prompting to read the FAQ, section, just enter Swinging arm bolt.

lol keyboard ninjas top one, how much did you pay? i manage to get my mk 2 for £200 needed a top end rebuild though had to source a piston from scratch and small end bearing as neither were with the bike and had to correct a few fudges which the previous amatuer had buggered but all is fully functioning and currently providing my sundays with a fantastic day out, ill be keeping mine for a good few years i may even keep it and be buried with it! its definatley the best on/ off road bike ive owned

by the way unless youve got upgraded jets in your carb just use a standard plug mate i had a racing plug in mine and it ran like a bag of rusty spanners

the standard plug is NGK BR8ES with a gap setting of 0.7mm - 0.8mm pal, my bike runs fine with this plug, bloody hell where did you buy it from? did you get any extras with it? was it taxed and tested? you see a decent mk2 with tax and test normally fetches between 750 and a grand thats the going rate anyway, i know its too late to say but you shouldve come on here as sometimes theres bike being sold, i got mine off a site called swapz.co.uk. if you need any more info mate ive got 2 manuals and if you get stuck and need pics i will gladly put some on youtube or email some to you, i know what its like when youre trying to fix and need something to look at and no one will send you a pic of say their wiring for you speaking of wiring i uploaded a vid on youtube of the wiring from the magneto to the cdi for mk2's. give us a shout if you get stuck pal

I usually pay over the odds too, always in wrong place wrong time. Paid 650 but it was a dog. Ive spent 700 quid just to get it roadworthy so i paid the same as you. That said, virtually everything has been done so it'll hopefully last a good few years without major spend, unless the motor goes west!
Still worth it i reckon, used to spend that kinda money in the pub over a year an just peed it against a wall
