My last stupid question - (for this month anyway!)
Guys, some advice please.
I've checked FAQ's and technical etc, there seem to be different opinions on this one:
Because I do a fair amount of water / mud / river crossings, should I
a) Re-route overflow pipes into the airbox, or
b) Re-route them up to a higher level but NOT into the airbox?
We're having a fair amount of rain at the moment - last week one of my riding buddies recommended switching the bike off and pushing it through the water instead of riding it to avoid problems (water was about the height of the airbox). Seems strange to me though - if water IS going to get in and stuff everything up, surely it would be more advisable to try and ride through as the momentum pushes water to either side of the bike as opposed to pushing where you're basically dunking the bike into the water and giving it more time to get in all the places it shouldn't be?

IMO,the overflow pipes are best gathered in to a single outlet with a joiner, then zip tie some sponge around the end of the pipe.
The breather pipe is best routed to up near the header, or into the air box,[your choice] I favour the head stock, but of course if the bike gets laid over with the engine running, the head stock could be quite low

Generally ,water up to the under side of the air box is fine, and deeper for short durations, but, make sure the header pipe is well sealed.

Thanks for the quick input guys - will take your advice as usual Mike, nice idea with the sponge!
Will try and take some photos next Saturday on the ride, should be awesome. Last week on a short ride we came across a Black-backed Jackal so next weekend who knows what we'll come across?
