hi all has any1 ever put or heard of a crm motor in a road bike cos i love 2 stroke road bikes. but when looking they always sell for good money. but a rolling chassis of say a rd, nsr, ar, rgv & so on 125 or 250 ?would be cheaper & great fun. light, quick, nimble & very chuckable. ive seen rangtangtang's bike & think it looks mint
just a thought ????? :-))

plenty of crm engined conversions about , even a cafe racer
Im thinking about a bike with more valves than a powervalve

cant imagine there will be a straightforward swap over but at the end of it you will have a 1 off , there are plenty of not quite standard crms been done along the same lines and they all look different and have been done in a slightly different way , prime example are Knacks 2 , literally the same but different

personally I think the CRM is a stonking around town..

if I wasnt gonna take it off road I think a good set of road tires..

firm up the suspension ( oil and springs? ) ( at the front for sure - so it dont dive like a footballer )

upgrade the front brake rotor..

the cafe racer is nice - but I met the guy and saw it in person and its been sat in his garage for years....

I like how the CRM as it is get you high,,,,,, the rest is just stuff to look at...

I think what i meant was that I like how the CRM gets me UP high - good view...

If you wanted to put the CRM on the road you should keep it in the stock frame.

Theres not much point removing a 55-60hp 250cc twin cylinder 250 to install a 30hp CRM motor.

the crm is good at all road duties accept for long freeway trips, I never liked it on the freeway/motorway, it didnt like it at all either.

I've got a Cagiva mito (125) with a cradle to carry either a yzf 450 or CR250 motor.... 8-)

Do, or did Honda offer any advice as to the likely commuting limitations on a 250 cc T2 engine?

We know their not as highly tuned of the production line as it's possible to achieve with some minor mods.
I'm thinking that over half a lifetime ago I used to abuse Suzuki GT 250's and 500's without them grenading.

My x7 detonated itself twice!!

YB100 i passed me test on was bullet proof though!

agreed, in Thailand the NSR150rr are fast 160kmh+
