I've just bought an all original 89 250r.been reading through the tec stuff as bike is making a whering noise.look forward to getting it sorted with lots of questions to ask you guys,thanks in advance to all that will help along the road.

Welcome Glyn,it's more than likely the case that the bearing for the balance shaft has worn.
Have a read of the F.A.Q., there will be loads of old post on the way to replace the bearings.
