No brake light

Ive removed both sets of indicators and now the brake light isnt working for rear or front brake. I actually cut the wires that go to the indicators to remove them.Have I cocked up by doing that? I presumed that as long as the brake light was still connected it would still work but it was working fine before so Im guessing its because ive cut the indicators wires. Ive cjecked the bulb and its fine. Any advice would be much appreciated.

You have probably cut the earth wire (solid green).
