Im new to the site and new to CRM's. I got my first one last friday, knowing that the wheel bearings needed doing. When I removed the wheel found that steering bearings were knackered too. Done both, and all goes well up to the point where Im tightening the front wheel back in......what I need is a diagram of the front wheel set up. Need to know how many spacers there should be ? and what size ? Is there a knack to tightening the wheel up ? are there supposed to be any washers in there ?
Simple thing like tightening the wheel up and i'm baffled
any help would be appreciated .

What mark crm do you have?
The speedo drive acts as a spacer, and you have another spacer on the other side.
You should have 4 nuts on the spindle clamp, same side of the speedo drive, if its a mk2

its a mk 2 and yes what you described is as it is. my problem is that when tightening it up do i just tighten till the spindle hits the speedo drive then lock off with the clamps or is there a way where it pulls that fork leg too ?

Yeah, the spindle acts as the spacer face. Do that then nip up the 4 nuts, then back them off a bit. Hold handlebars with front brake on and bounce the forks to take up the sticktion. Without moving the forks again too much, tighten up the 4 nuts.

What i mean by the spindle acts as spacer face is where the spindle goes fat, it touches the speedo drive. The speedo drive doesnt touch the fork. Thats why you bounce on the forks - the spindle will naturally seat itself in that clamp, then tighten the clamp

cheers for that, thought i was doing something wrong, but seemed like i was right, didnt know about the fork bounce though, will sort it tomorrow.

I would add, pump the front brake once back on the bike, then spin the wheel and jam the front brake on, whilst still holding the front brake lever, do up the axle tight, ENSURING the speedo spacer is located properly. This centralizes the disc to the brake pads, then as described above.
