I recently bought a Mk2 which has had some CDi problems in the past (new CDi and sparks returned). However the blighter wont rev.It starts beautifully, I have checked and cleaned all the jets, fuel is definitely getting through ok, the right spark plug is in it but it just wont rev. the induction noise increases and the revs rise fractionally but it stays on tickover.
Hmmmmm. Any suggestions chaps?

Re-check the carb, sounds like you've done summ't wrong to me, you'll kick yourself when you find it.

Somethings wrong, or blocked.
Have you left a rag or bag in the airbox..............who me.....never
Or its lack of fuel......anything blocked

Up early to re-check the carb just in case. All jets removed and checked, cleaned and blown out with compressed air back together and ......no change. Here's a link to the video of the problem. Hope it helps find wtf is up with the little monkey. http://youtu.be/2QD8rxC6u3A http://youtu.be/2QD8rxC6u3A[/youtube]

Bizzare!
The bike is running very rich, but that is to be expected when starting from cold with the choke on. Obviously the throttle is working - but virtually no response. Are you sure there is no blockage either side of the carb? No rags left in? Are the reeds glued shut? Any blockage in the exhaust?
Where abouts in the country are you?

Have you tried another new spark plug?

Poked a finger down the inlet to check if reeds were stuck but they are flexing ok. I'll have a look in the airbox rubber but I aint hopeful. Just dropped the zorst off and as expected it looks good. Now gonna piss the neighbours off by starting without it to see if it revs.
I'm in Leeds btw

Neighbours now unhappy and my ears are bleeding but no change to the revving trauma. No obstructions in airbox or rubber RC valve , piston look ok from the exhaust port. needle was on the top notch so raised it to 3 and NO difference. Quite frustrating

Sometimes a dodgy plug can fail under load

Could also be float height in carb, not enough petrol getting through?

Tried the plug thing but its not cutting out its just not revving. Open throttle = more induction noise but no revs, still ticks over and runs so sparks not suspected but who knows?????

What jets are in the carb?
Where are you based?
