Hi,
I race my CRM in Enduro's and it is great! One area where i do feel the need to improve is the suspension however.

I have a standard rear which holds pressure and (freshly rebuilt) CR250 USD folks (1989 we think judging by seal sizes). Anyone have any suggestions as to better alternatives? Don't want to 'Break the bank' so looking for something i can source easily on Ebay etc.

if you got one clamp on the left hand side then there 1989 250 ones try using less oil or a thinner oil to get a better feel i have 1989 ones on my mk2 once set up right there decent i use my crm for everything that including table jumps

Only recently i found out after spotting some fork guards on ebay (that went for small wedge), the left one is different to the other cr/crf ones

hope my dealer knows what bushes are- I'd try calling me but its like Chinese whispers in the phone.. And I usually need to point out whet I need in the manual..

Fork bushes are simple to replace yes. done mine recently.

I am mk 3 = so according to FAQ same as the AR..

as for oil

I am a cheap bogger - so I am just gonna put ATF in there... ( thinks its about 7.5 wt? )

I hardly ride CRM on the road - just 4 mins down road from me is 'my' track - major bumpity - lucky to get into 3rd gear - and actually thats not advised

my dust seals were good and I added socks too
