Hello fellas. My kickstart isn't held on securely. In fact it can be slid of quite easily and I think it will fall off very soon. I think this is because the bolt that should be present has been damaged and snapped at some point (it wasn't me this time). Could anyone take a close-up picture of their kickstart shaft for me please? It would be a great help. Thank you.

Is there any of the old bolt left sticking out from the splined shaft?

I used to ride with someone who kept their kick start in their back pack, just in case they lost it. That mightbe a short term solution for you, or patiently ease out the old bolt. It sounds like it will need a lot of prior easing. If possible lay the bike on it's side and create a well for the easing oil with some clay/plasticine.Keep it topped up for a couple of days.Then think about tackling the broken bolt.

Thanks I wouldn't of thought of that Mike. It doesn't look like your normal snapped bolt. Not very smooth could say jagged even. I'm wondering if this has been caused by the last person trying to remove it? On another note I've dropped my seat off to get my new seat cover on today.

Jagged? That sounds exactly like someone has sheared that off whilst tyring to undo the bolt
It might have to be spark eroded out.
