Gear Lever
Gear Lever
Having just treated my CRM Mk2 to new sprockets, chain, discs and pads, not to mention the swinging arm bearings, my attention became focused on the gear lever.
The lever itself was loose on the selector shaft splines, although the bolt was tight. I noticed there was no gap where the bolt goes through to tighten the lever onto the splines.
I removed the lever from the bike, and after removing the pinch bolt I opened up the gap slightly with a 3\" air cut off tool.
On replacing the lever it now grips the splines tightly, making for slicker gear changes.

have done the same in the past but i got a new item from LT , i think an IMS one great! just need wider pegs as mk2 ones are too narrow.I know ones off xr400 fit.

3rd CRM250 MK2, rebuilt incl Braided hoses, powdercoated, one off bronze swingarm bushes, taper head bearings, hard chromed fork, poweredcoated rear spring and rebuilt. custom graphics, also own TL1000s, Aprillia RS250 (300 kit stage 3 tuned), Yamaha RD400c
Your right about pegs.
But don't spend a fortune on replacement pegs.
It's easy to modify standard ones. I did mine and what a difference.
All you need is a piece of 1/8th x 1/2\" plate. Bend it to fit one side of peg, weld it on and file the grooves to match the ones in the original peg.
Since I did it, a couple of mates have done the same.
Being a Yorkshire lad I am averse to spending adverse sums of money when the same result can be achieved for coppers.

Here you go Gwyn.
If it doesn't work send me your e-mail address.
Note: add extensions to rear of footpegs, then it doesn't affect position of gearlever & brake pedal.
