NEW GUY

Post by leon48 »

thought i'd introduce meself. just got a mk 1 that ran for a month then lost all power and made a horible rattle. Am now in the process of getting to know the inside of my new 'toy' (bike was bought as a run around bit of fun while i finished putting a zx9 engine into my zxr750). Will probably be after loads of help as the job progresses.

Welcome Leon :) I've had a ZXR750 and a ZX9. Both good fun, but the torque of the ZX9 was absolutely amazing  Good luck on your rebuilds. Like Mick say's, any questions just ask, and someone will have the answer :)

Was not supposed to be another project till next year. Ho hum. got exhaust off and internals appear fine through hole( only rough guide i know.)What does a crm sound/run like with no exhaust gasket? the one i have removed is in tatters and it seems strange that the last thing i did before this problem started was to adjust the fit of the exhaust. bike starts, runs then bogs down with rattle noise from front. Dont want to start it again till i find out why.
