Bike problems !
right well after spending 15mins trying to kick over the bike she finaly started, was fine for a while then she developed a problem of if you open the throtal fully she'll die (like when you've run out of fuel) and as soon as you let off the bike will be fine again.
My guess is the main jet is blocked, but i've had 0 experiance with striping carbs down (hate playing with carbs even more so on 2t) any advice before i start dissecting it into 10,000 little bits??

Just keep the parts you take off in order and if you are really unsure take digital photos. I think you just need to undo the four screws holding the base of the carb and lift out the bits you need to get at the main jet. I try to keep the carb upside down. You will probably find lots of crud in the bottom of the bowl you have taken off. If you have not done this before the main jet is the big hexagonal brass 'nut' in the middle.
Try to blow the jet out. Try not to poke it with a stiff piece of wire! Nylon bristle would be better.
Put everything back in reverse order.

if you had been kicking it over for 15mins, you have probably flooded it anyway, which may cause the poor running. drain the carb via thr drain screw, the kick it with the throttle wide open and fuel tap off. this will clear the crankcase off fuel, the start as normal.
kick over slowly with ignition off then one shap kick with the ignition on should get it going. Jon

That 2nd set of symptoms you posted sounds like you may have a blocked breather on the fuel tank. Best to check this before stripping carb cos its easy to do.
as you lower the fuel over 20 minutes riding a vacuum creates in the tank and stops the fuel flowing fast enuf to the carb. When this happens again just undo the petrol cap and replace it again (thus releasing any vacuum). if the bike now runs OK for a few more minutes then its deffo a blocked breather.

rene i just finished putting new reeds in my AR and checked out the carb for you. It's safe to say that the most extreme electrical bit on there is the motor for the oil pump (i think its the oil pump) but to take it off i needed a security drill bit set as it had funny screws. I didn't open it up however, as i was on the verge of tearing the screws apart. anyone have any special techniques of getting the airbox bit to re-couple with the carb easily?

Lubricate entry with small amount of 2 stroke oil helps.

Well the problems back! Just not as we know it...
Every time I start the bike up now it runs like crap (like the jets are blocked again) and wont go into the power band. If I take the air filter off and spray some carb cleaner in the bike will run perfectly and have plenty of power, can even stop, turn the bike off, come back start it and she’s fine. BUT if I leave it over night then start it again the running problem returns!
Any ideas on what this could be? I could strip down the carb again but I gave it a very good clean last time so I get the feeling it much be something else??
