Hello again!
If i am running my AR on tickover, everthing is fine, but if i rev it , the power valve will stay open. I have dis- connected the cables and oiled them, The valve is working ok in the cylinder, but when in blip the throttle the valve stays open. I have lubricated the gears in the servo nd it does not seem to make any differerce. Where do i go from here?

Experiencing the exact same problems with mine.
Picked new bike up last weekend -- 99 AR.
the problem is intermitent which seems it should rule out a CDI problem
and consequently reg rectifier?
I've checked the servo motor and gears and all seem fine - cables appear
to be ok... Only thing I havent done is clean the power valve itself
partly because my mechanical know how is not all that extensive
and lifting the cylinder head off the bike seems a little daunting..
I'll keep you posted if I find out anything and in the meantime
if anyone else has any tips to give they would be much appericiated

Just a thought Frostoff - as I havent had time to check with my bike yet
as i'm away from home but.. Does it still suffer from the same problems
when the engine has completely heated up after a say a ten min ride?
I'm just getting re-aquainted again with 2 strokes after a long time
and as I remember on my old KX the power vavle behaved fairly
irratically (not opening fully etc) until it was properly warmed up.
Anyone think this could this be likely?
or am I talking nonsense?
