What to do on a Saturday morning
I've got up fairly early, being on shifts I've had a bit of a lie in, and just trying to decide what to do.
1)Ride a few lanes and test out if my bruised/cracked? ribs are up for a gentle ride out
2) Go and watch Slider on his WOR race experience day
I've just checked Memory map and low and behold I know a route that takes me within a couple of miles of the WOR event and I then look down to see my camera winking at me.
Result I'm now going to be riding some green lanes (UCR's).
Watching Slider in his first WOR event and with any luck, not wanting to put any pressure on him, taking a few photos.
Forgot to mention I'm now on holiday till the New Year

I made it to race experience day.
The trails on the way were very frosty.

I did come off on some tarmac that was covered in black ice but with all the gear I now wear I just slid up the road.
By the time I arrived they had all been out and had a few laps practice so I was able to have a chat with Slider before he did a final practice lap.
This looked as if it was going to be a bottle neck when 50 rider charged down towards the gate.

but it all turned into a nice orderly que

Here's Paul from throttle monkeys

Have a guess who this poser is

and again on the grass after the woods

I think this is Geoff off the throttle monkeys I did have a good chance for a better photo but the camera had switched off and I ended up taking a picture of nothing.

This photo of Paul at the end sums it up

happy but knackered.
Sorry for the quality of the photos I will try harder next time.
I then left and rode a few more trails on the way home.
Mission accomplished.
One foot note I lost my wallet on the way home but only found out when someone phoned my to say they had found it on the road about 5 miles from the event. The man was an absolute hero and I cannot thank him enough.

Nice pics and report Eddie 8) looked very frosty up there
Glad you got your wallet back mate, hope you bought the guy a pint or two
Lost mine once , out on the lanes, and spent a whole day retracing where i had been, and ended up finding it at the bottom of my rucksack
So come on then Slider, how did you get on with the h&h malarky
Good fun or what

nice pics and report ed and good to see you again,i'm not quite sure what a posser is but if i am one so be it!
as for how i got on,mmmmm,it was a heavy frost and the course was like an ice rink apart from the muddy sections and the woodland.i finished on the lead lap in 18th out of about 40-50 riders so not too bad but a real eye opener,i think a full 3hr rtace is a fair way off yet!!!
i'll do a report in the wor r.e.d day thread in a bit

Simple typo
I can smell honest.
I'm looking forward to see the helmet cam view. There were at least half a dozen riders that are a long way from being novice and I suspect using the day to practice for the Sunday races. So well done on giving it a go.
