Nope I am not new to off roading, i have been doing it for 22 years, had all sorts of bikes (about 40+) from a dt 50 to a husaberg fe 650 but have gone back to 2 strokes. Yep am aware of TRF but the nearest is about 35 miles from me !! The CRF seems a blast only been on it twice, to be honest I was a little dissapointed with its top end speed (about 80 mph with my 16 stone 6 ft 3 inch load aboard ) as i had read that they will do 100 mph. What speed do these bikes generally do? Its ok though as it does not effect me off road.

Welcome aboard mate .Although some owners do Rally, and Use their bikes for Enduros, it is generally recognised that without considerable modifications to the suspension , you will quickly be pushing the boundary's of the bikes abilities off road .
If used for intended purpose ,it is a fantastic piece of kit , that allows you to clock up considerable miles off and on road ,and all in a relaxed manner.

Some ride them in the trail class of enduros or long distance trials. You will find some at rallies. I have raced in motorcross back in 1990 but very uncompetitive

As FMtB says they are very good at trail riding when you don't tax the suspension. Some have made tham more competitive by putting the motor into a CR frame but what you gain in off road ability you loose in comfort on the road.
