Wheel Bearings
Wheel Bearings
Hi
Does anybody know the part numbers for the rear wheel bearings on a MK1? (possibly the same as other models)
I would like to buy the new ones before I have to take the wheel apart!
I have done a search on here & only found the fronts (6003)

Took the rear wheel off & removed the bearings, fortunately the 'Craptite' spacer on the sprocket side came off with little hassle, I used a hammer & punch to loosen & found that an angle grinder spanner fits quite nicely to remove it completely.
I can confirm that the bearings are 6303 on sprocket side & 6203 on brake side, I decided to look into replacing the oil seals also, the sizes are 25x40x7 (1 each side), these turned out to be a standard size at my local Bearing supplier.
Approx prices as follows
oil seal 25x40x7 - £2.50 each (2 required)
Sprocket side brg 6303 2RS - £5.40
Brake side brg 6203 2RS - £4.40
As the on road handling was noticeably worse with the brake side bearing shagged, I think less than £15 & about half an hours work is well worth it!
