Jetting Kits

Post by SkidMark » 20 Mar 2009, 19:42

Question for all you Jetting experts out there;
is it possible to buy a kit of jets with a range of sizes in it. I am presuming (!) that my bike is standard but would like to by some jets ready for when i have some time to play. If kits aren't avaliable can anyone recommend what sizes would be good to invest in with part numbers if known. The bike is standard. I don't even know what increments they come in...
AR's rock!!!
TwinAir filter, Braided Brake Hoses, Swingarm/Shock bearings done!, Rear Shock overhauled and customised by G-Force, 14-44 Gearing, Exhaust decoked (fun with Caustic Soda!), DEP silencer.

Anybody?

Do you you have to buy jets from the manufacture or are they avaliable as aftermarket parts? Can anyone give me some part numbers? In Lings inline parts look up I tried variations of the original jet part number (ie standard pilot jet is 99103-MBB-0480 and the jet size is 48 so I tried 99103-MBB-0490, 99103-MBB-0500 etc) but nothing was good.

i have seen jet kits available but not for the PE carb. Last time i check a few jets with David silver that all had to be ordered, but that should only be a few days. Let me know what sizes you want and i will dig out the PN's. Jon

Well this is the first time I have done any jetting so maybe you can recommend what I should get. I guess that I was thinking (if I have standard jets in there already ie 48 and 148) then I would get perhaps 4 or 5 sizes small and larger or is this overkill? Part of my problem is that I don't know what increments they come in.
Thanks for your help mate,
Regards

Have a look at this website for jets. The CRm Keihin Carb uses part numbers 'N424-21' and '99101-357' for pilot and main jet respectively. You just add the number of the jet size ti the end of that part number and then thats the full aprt number identify what jet size you want aswell. Eg A 55 pilot jet art number would read "N424-21055" I ordered some with these part numbers and can confirm they fit.

Then just find a company or delaerships that goes by those part numbers and vola! Just pick one of the many sizes that you require.

I asked a while ago about maybe a JD jetting kit that would fit the CRm but until you find another motorbike that shares the same carb as the CRM and has roughly the same base stock settings there of no use.

Just buy the jets you think you need.
